Assessor: Sarah Schumann
According to the SANBI Red List Assessment, this species is Vulnerable as it is a range-restricted endemic experiencing ongoing population decline due to habitat loss (Bruyns et al. 2015). This genus is in demand and of popular interest in international horticultural trade, as indicated by several online marketplace, e-commerce and auction sites. There have been several recorded confiscations of this species and others of the Adromischus genus from illegal collection (Confiscation List (2018-2022) provided by Cape Nature, SANBI Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and SANparks Sendlingsdrift). This suggests that this genus and species is being targeted and that this species may be at risk.

Whole individuals are recorded in confiscations.
Few known locations of occurrence with existing threat causing population decline makes this species vulnerable to further population loss. Recruitment and recovery from harvesting may be poor.
